an excerpt of a newspaper headlines. . .Adventurers Ambushed by Illegal Quests With the rise of hostile factions in Upponia that's looking to hurt Geiselburg, it's natural that some of them tries to do it by hitting where the adventurers are most vulnerable, their willingness to help. In the past couple of month there has been an alarming rise of illegal quest letter posted on questboards all across Geiselburg. Some of them leads to a bandit robbery, which can be handled by most of the adventurers. Others leads to a more vile trap, even went as far as kidnapping the adventurers and torturing them for information about Geiselburg. Some others are even used by eldritch being to lure adventurers into a cultists sacrifices. {Guild Action CR} 5

Days Happened : 359-365
Guild : Affinity Biochemist Combine
Initial PP: 4
Means of Completion :To solve the problem, ABC decides to tackle it in two different way, proactive and reactive: 1. ProactiveUsing Biochemical and Geoscience research in ABC, Arina leads a team of scientist and engineer including Daniel (Profession Perk and Craft Extraordinary item) and Rosenblad (Craft Mundane Item) to create hard-to-counterfeit special paper, stamp and watermarking to be mass produced and used by guilds and official quest giver. Higher level quest might include mixture of more complex methods while lower level quest might use one or two methods. This ensure the adventurers can check if the quest is legitimate or not. Arina also holds a discussion with the guilds and quest offices to ensure the secrecy and safety of this method. 1. Quest Paper: the paper are produced using special biological material that secrets unique scent that can be detected only by special detector organism that is stored in the request office, when there is no reaction from the detector the moment quest paper are placed on the office counter, the quest are deemed fake and ineligible to be taken 2. Ethereal Stamp: using special stamp made of ether condensed crystal and ink imbued with luminescence substance, at first sight the paper doesn't show any stamp, but when taken to request office using special light emitting crystal, the stamp would appear under ethereal light 3. Coded Watermarking : each paper also has their own set of watermark or code that is embedded within the structure of paper itself, the code represent documents number, quest giver id , guild id and etc; using special rule (like dewey decimal and hash code) by quest office, if there is mismatch in the pattern number, the quest is fake 2.ReactiveAlso using the guild research and library, Arina also leads another team that consists of Boreas and Daraglin (Craft Extraordinary Item, Craft Mundane Item, Artisan) to create a special device that can be activated or triggered on emergency. This item are issued to registered adventurer so if they are trapped in dangerous situation or trap due to illegal quest, other nearby adventurers or quest office can send help if possible. Due to possible abuse, Arina also holds a discussion with other guilds and quest offices to decide the procedure of using the items (like if it is optional or mandatory or must be returned after finishing a quest or given to certain quest only) and the punishment for misusing them. 1. Life Sensor: A harmless parasitic organism that can be attached and removed from the host. The organism due to connection to the host can detect if there's major life change to the host (when the host is dying or gravely injured). A device is made using this organism that can trigger other object, like emergency flare, or healing items. 2. Emergency Flare: A special combustible stone/crystal that can fly to the air and explode in bright light and emits loud sounds when triggered. The dimmer light then lingers for a time to mark last known position to nearby rescuer. Connected with the Life Sensor, this will activate when the user is in danger or this can also be manually triggered by the user. 3. Reverse Distance Compass: Using the basic concept of distance compass. A special arcane rock/crystal is issued to registered adventurer. A main device(compass) is available to quest office and the guilds to know general distance of the adventurers. This can also be connected to Life Sensor, it produce a special blinking light to the main device if triggered.

Guild Action Success! 2 XP grated! PP required is 3!Days happened 403-412ProactiveThe request office welcomes ABC with open hand to tackle on the legitimacy of quest letters. The ingenious ways ABC invented to identify legitimate quests is quickly adopted by the request offices all around Geiselburg and some that are outside the city. However, it's not a cure-all. The solution only works if the adventurer taking the fake quest is already suspicious. They still have to come to the nearest request office to see if the quest is legitimate or not. But something else comes out of this venture. The coded watermarking that ABC proposes is further developed by the request office to categorize the danger level of each quests. They came up with 6 danger classes that can further inform the adventurers as to what kind of hazards that they might face : - Bunny Class are quests with the least danger, like hunting wild animals or gathering rare herbs. Perfect for newbie adventurers
- Goblin Class are quests with some danger involved. Things like stopping highwaymen or bandits belong here.
- Troll Class are quests with moderate to heavy danger involved. Hunting a strong magical beast or subduing a fortress can be found in this category
- Scribe Class are quests that needs steady hand in diplomacy or espionage. Negotiating with a well-known merchant or scouting in a hostile war camp can be an example of these quests
- Mimic Class are quests that the request office has no idea where to classify to. Usually this is because the client requested for the details to be disseminated after the adventurers takes the quest.
- Dragon Class are quests with the most danger of all. These quests involves deadly consequences. Things like stopping a slaver operation, hunting a dragon, stopping a major cult, belongs to this category
ReactiveUnfortunately this venture is not meant to be. Most adventurers object to have some unknown organism attached to their bodies. Furthermore, ABC does not have enough fund to distribute the devices to all adventurers freely.
